Statement
My art practice uses a slow meditative and ancient process of forming hollow vessels from metal, it is so physically demanding that each project becomes a deliberate act in making, in theory the form could be produced using other less demanding means, but it is this physical exertion and ritual between myself, the metal and hammer that is central to my work.   Each new project evolves from the previous one, stretching the elements of metal, hammer energy and design, moving away from traditional forms of vessels made in this process. My ideas delve through  a subconscious comic science fiction,  using anthropomorphism to find a playfulness and individual character in each piece, using  block colour of  traditional patination to emphasise these elements.
